Tasty Potato may not be in the Top 40 or on the radio yet, but that doesn’t stop Frank from dreaming. The band started when three college friends played at one of their favorite hangouts and had to come up with a band name. Somehow Tasty Potato stuck with them – and they’ve been playing together for about three years.
The band has fans that like their CDs. While they aren’t available in the music stores, Frank and his buddies sell them at their gig venues. Tasty Potato CDs have been pretty popular, and it wasn’t long before Frank and his buddies started getting email requests to send a CD along to someone who’d heard the band was great.
Then Tasty Potato was featured in a popular blog for indie rock bands. The requests started pouring in for their CDs. Frank realized that writing on the envelopes just wasn’t that successful. It didn’t look professional and he wanted their CDs to make a great impression when they arrived in the mail. Then he found custom shipping labels. With custom shipping labels he could get shipping labels that featured their baked potato mascot and with brown and white, the colors of the band and all of their gear (website, CD, t-shirts). Anyone would easily know that package was from Tasty Potato. Why they would tear right into it, knowing that CD had arrived! Frank ordered right away.
The CD orders kept coming and Frank was glad he had the custom shipping labels. His band members were tired of writing Tasty Potato’s P.O. Box on every package, and the shipping labels saved them time and looked much better. Their drummer doesn’t have great handwriting and every package he did – well let’s just say the guys hoped it would make it there okay.
Tasty Potato operates on a shoestring budget (shoestring potato maybe…..). So spending a lot of money really wasn’t an option. Frank and his band members were relieved to find that custom shipping labels were a competitive and reasonable price that was wallet friendly. They could easily order the labels they needed and the options to make them look great like colors, fonts and adding graphics were all included in the price.
Now Tasty Potato has a larger fan base – in part because they have been able to mail out CDs to new fans. They are hard at work on their new CD and are almost ready to order another set of custom shipping labels so they’ll be ready for orders. Frank and his buddies know just how important they were to their first CDs success and they don’t want to miss out for their next one.
Ordering labels can make a difference for a band or any small business. While custom shipping labels can’t make you sound better, they sure can help get your music into the hands of people that will enjoy it. This makes a big difference in connecting you with fans and people who might become fans. Keep playing Tasty Potato!
